EQUATIONS

The study of Equations is an important topic under Algebra. It deals with solving equations and solving for the values of unknown variables. Equations are defined as algebraic expressions or mathematical expressions separated by an '=' sign. The equation therefore consists of 2 parts i.e. the L.H.S (Left Hand side) and R.H.S.(Right hand side).
There are different types of Equations based on the exponent of the variables in the equations:

• Linear Equations
• Quadratic equations
• Polynomial equations

There are different method too adopted for solving different equations. For solving Linear equations 2 methodologies can be followed:

• By solving simultaneous equations
• By substitution method

Linear equations can also be solved by graphing. Students can learn to how to plot the graph of linear equations with one variable.
With respect to Polynomials, students can learn about their characteristics and learn about factoring polynomials.
